Italian company Magaldi Power filed an Indian patent application for technology related to the storage and transfer of thermal energy from solar sources.
The application was later deemed abandoned after a response to the Patent Office's First Examination Report was not filed within the prescribed period. The company argued that it had relied on its patent agent to manage the Indian prosecution process.
In April 2026, the Delhi High Court restored the application and directed the Patent Office to continue its examination.
